Our Day at HUMBUG"On the 8th September, I attended a local Unix user group called HUMBUG, at the University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia.

This was their Annual General Meeting, which was very much an informal gathering of 34 unix users and with the Haiku presence we had, we definitely made an impression; certainly more people know about Haiku than yesterday, and that's gotta be a good thing.

Earlier that day when I was driving to the University, I got stuck behind this white hatchback, which had the license plate letters KDL. I thought, this was some sort of omen, however, I can announce there were no hiccups during the demos I gave."

Here's a pretty funny video by Dan Meth, showing the history of everyone or thing that became famous on the net, set to a little ditty.

{mosimage}Get those silver ballers locked and loaded, cos the Hitman movie trailer is now available for consumption over at the Apple Trailers site.

The Hitman movie is directed by Xavier Gens and stars Tim Olyphant as Agent 47. When I first heard he was the star, I was a little dubious - originally Vin Diesel was the front-runner for the job, I also thought Jason Statham would have done a good job, however, after seeing this trailer, I don't think I've been disappointed.

Wire-action, Silver ballers and the Opera music ... oh yes, I'm really looking forward to this movie now.

ITM Productions is back with Part 1 of South Pacs 2007, which was held on the 4th/5th August. 19 teams battled it out at Samford Skirmish, which hosted Round 3 of the Super 7 Series aka South Pacs 2007, one of the longest running and most competitive paintball tournaments in Australia.

Update: Unfortunately, there really wasn't enough footage to justify making a 2nd part. Sorry.
